Jamie L. Schwartz is a senior associate attorney with the Kriger Law Firm. She has been practicing homeowners association law since 2006.  She provides legal services for all aspects of homeowner association law including civil litigation and transactional work mostly governed by the Davis Stirling Act.

Before joining the Kriger Law Firm, Mrs. Handrick worked at Best Best & Krieger practicing eminent domain litigation where she handled high profile cases for the City of San Diego and the Metropolitan Transit Development Board. She also worked in labor and employment litigation. She drafted resolutions for various water districts dealing primarily with water regulations ‑ storm water, ground water, and pollution regulations.  Before that, she worked for Sempra Energy Solutions where she reviewed gas and electricity wholesale and retail sales contracts for proper terms and conditions to aid general counsel and sales executives.  She started her legal career at Kennerson, Schwartz, Semerdjian & Haile in civil litigation, construction defect litigation and estate planning.

In 2004 Mrs. Handrick earned her California Real Estate Brokers License and worked very briefly in that profession before deciding the law was her passion. She was admitted to the California State Bar in December 2001 and received her J.D. in May 2000 from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.  She was published in the ELOSS Encyclopedia, Great Britain, Endangered Species and International Law in 2001.  She earned her Paralegal Certificate in December 1997 from the University of San Diego and graduated from San Diego State University in May 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with an emphasis on environmental studies.

Memberships include the Lawyers Club where she was chairperson of the mentor program for two years, the San Diego County Bar Association and the Foothills Bar Association.

A passion for her horses keeps her busy as she competes in riding competitions in her spare time.
